The Interchange voice processing system acts like a telephone receptionist. It answers incoming calls and transfers them to the appropriate extension. If the called extension is not available (busy or no answer), Interchange offers to take a message or try an alternative extension.
Interchange system functionality includes:
• Automated attendant features
• Voice mail features
These two functions work together to provide smooth call coverage for your application.

MAJOR FEATURES
In addition to basic voice mail and call routing functions, the Interchange system offers—depending on your application—several other features, including:
• Call Logs - The Interchange system keeps a record—or call log—of all incoming and outgoing calls. The system uses the call log file to generate system and mailbox usage reports, which you can view using Report Generation software.
• Unified Messaging and E-mail Reader Unified messaging lets mailbox owners access and manage their voice mail messages along side their e-mail messages—all in one place, a Microsoft Outlook Inbox. This way, in addition to viewing and sending e-mail messages, Unified Messaging users can listen to and work with voice mail messages from their PC desktop Inbox. The e-mail reader furthers this overall message management capability by allowing mailbox owners who are away from their Inbox to call in to their voice mailbox to manage all their voice and e-mail messages.
